QUESTION: How do I know if my vehicle needs to be waxed?
ADBCJ: The easiest way is to get your car wet. Choose a small section, preferably the hood, or front of the vehicle because the wax there is likely to wear off there before the rest of the vehicle, and spray it or hose it with water. If the water beads up, you’re good to go. The better the bead, the more durable the coat of wax.
The first slide shows the hood of a Scion tC being hosed down. There is no wax. Slide 2 shows the tC being hosed down after we waxed half of the hood (left side of the picture). Slide 3 does a great job presenting what water does on paint that is waxed (left) and paint that is unwaxed (right).
